Fine Art

With the price of precious metal souring over the last few years and more people trading in their gold than buying, fine jewellery has to find new ways to seduce us, amazing designs and beautiful gemstones create breathtaking heirlooms of the future. Here are some of my favorites.

Tomasz Donocik’s showstopping jewellery is like wearable art. Fluid, sensual with a sinister edge.

New York based Paolo Costagli’s creations are fresh, modern and instantly wearable,  the simplicity belies the artistry and technical perfection that goes into each piece. A gemologist by trade, his gems echo the colours of the Tuscan landscapes of his Italian heritage. I especially love his use of Peridot.

A leading light in British jewellery, Stephen Webster‘s jewels embody his glam rock attitude and love of the rock and roll lifestyle. Unique and playful Stephen Webster’s jewellery is always dramatic.

Trained in the heart of London’s jewellery making district, Shaun Leane’s jewellery has always challenged the accepted norms and pushed the boundaries of fine jewellery traditions. He came to prominence after a long standing collaboration with Alexander Mcqueen to create provocative catwalk jewels for his runway shows.

Anything by H Stern! The Brazilian fine jewellery powerhouse, known for it’s amazing gems, continues to be on the forefront of design by collaborating with a host of designers to create some of the most breathtaking jewels.
